Joining GKCOA is easy. Anybody with an interest in high school sports and willingness to learn can become a sports official. We’ll teach you the basics and get you started. Where you take it from there is up to you. Find out if you have what it takes to become a high school sports official. You’ll get as much out of the experience as you put into it.  The GKCOA primary purpose is to educate, train and support high school sports officials in Basketball, Football and Volleyball. We do facilitate assignments in each of the three sports; however, this is only in support of our primary purpose and game assignments are not a guaranty. The GKCOA welcomes new applicants for membership. We encourage both men and women to apply. No experience is necessary! There are two steps to the process:

  1. Complete the new member application and for those seeking to officiate basketball enroll in the new officials rules training class.
  2. Finally, register for access to ArbiterSports (instructions at bottom of this page) which is our assignment scheduling system.
